Our Story & Supporting Dr. DeCarlo

KMOSS Presents is committed to the progression of Black education and culture. Although we consult across the state of Virginia, our work has centered Hopewell, Virginia. Our principal, Katina Moss was a teacher in Hopewell City Public Schools for 10 years.

During her tenure, she was impacted by her students’ desires for their community. Through the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) curriculum, Moss’ classroom became a hub of youth leadership and progress in the city.

She and her students called themselves, K.Moss & Associates. In 2014, K. Moss & Associates, LLC was officially chartered as a business entity in the Commonwealth of Virginia. To better communicate the variety of events that we present to the community, we do business as KMOSS Presents.

As lead organizers of the Hopewell Juneteeth Freedom Festival, we were honored to provide technical assistance and web-hosting for Dr. Emily DeCarlo to publish her e-book Black History Legends of Hopewell, Virginia, which was available via QR Code during the festival and available for download here: https://hopewelljuneteenth.com/dr-emily-decarlos-book .
